Why I Don’t Do PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) at Holistic Solutions
At Holistic Solutions, my goal is always to provide patients with the safest, most reliable, and most effective therapies available. While Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is widely used as a regenerative treatment, I do not offer PRP in my clinic for several important reasons. My decision is based on clinical outcomes, patient comfort, cost-efficiency, and the availability of alternative regenerative therapies that I believe offer more predictable long-term results.
This page explains the reasoning clearly and respectfully, helping patients understand why Holistic Solutions focuses on other regenerative treatments such as Prolotherapy, Stem Cell–derived biologics, peptide therapy, and functional correction. My priority is always patient well-being, safety, transparency, and honest guidance based on years of clinical experience.
PRP Is Not Always Reliable for Regeneration
PRP is created by drawing a patient’s blood, spinning it in a centrifuge, and reinjecting the concentrated platelets into an injured or inflamed area. In theory, platelets contain growth factors that support tissue repair. While this concept is sound, PRP is highly inconsistent in practice.
Here’s why:
PRP quality depends on the patient’s health
If someone is older, inflamed, fatigued, insulin-resistant, or nutrient-deficient, their blood contains fewer active growth factors. This directly reduces the healing potential of the PRP the clinic extracts. As a result, two patients can receive the same procedure—but have completely different outcomes.
PRP concentration varies with machines and techniques
Centrifuges are not standardized across clinics. Spin time, speed, and collection technique change the concentration of platelets dramatically. Many patients assume they are receiving a powerful regenerative dose when in reality, the preparation may be weak or inconsistent.
Clinical results can be unpredictable
Some patients experience improvement with PRP, but many do not. Especially in older adults or people with chronic inflammation, PRP may simply not have enough growth factors to make a measurable difference. My commitment to patients is to offer treatments I expect to work reliably—not something dependent on chance.
PRP Can Be Painful and Requires Recovery Time
Compared to other regenerative options offered at Holistic Solutions, PRP injections can be significantly more painful. Because PRP is thicker, acidic, and inflammatory, it can create strong burning or pressure sensations when injected. Patients often experience:
- Post-procedural inflammation
- Several days of soreness
- Limited mobility
- Delayed return to normal activities
While discomfort does not mean the treatment is harmful, many patients seek regenerative therapy precisely because they wish to avoid downtime. After listening to years of feedback, I’ve chosen to focus on treatments that are gentler and easier to tolerate.
PRP Can Be Expensive Without Guaranteeing Strong Results
Many clinics charge $800–$2,000 per joint for PRP therapy. Yet the results are not always proportional to the cost. For patients seeking long-term regenerative improvement, I believe there are more cost-effective options with higher consistency, better outcomes, and less discomfort.
At Holistic Solutions, my philosophy is grounded in honesty and transparency. If a treatment is costly, I want it to deliver results that justify the investment. PRP does not consistently meet that standard for many patients.
A Philosophy Rooted in Transparency, Compassion, and Results
My decision not to use PRP is not a criticism of other practitioners or modalities. Many providers use PRP effectively, and some patients do benefit from it. However, in my clinical experience, the variability, discomfort, cost, and inconsistent outcomes make it less ideal compared to the regenerative solutions we offer here at Holistic Solutions.
My focus is always on:
- Honest, evidence-guided clinical decisions
- Comfortable and effective treatments
- Predictable outcomes patients can count on
- The most advanced regenerative therapies available today
Patients trust Holistic Solutions not simply because of the treatments we offer, but because of the transparency behind our choices.
